Elert Me is a low cost, proactive alert service designed to notify you (and anyone in your alert group) when your dependants, or loved ones are unresponsive, helping you quickly react, and respond to their needs, avoiding incidents or even worse, tragedy.
Elert Me works anywhere. You could be in Spain or Egypt, and your dependent could be in France, or the UK, or anywhere. So, wherever you or your dependents are in the world, Elert Me is the ideal solution, helping you automatically keep tabs on loved ones proactively, without being intrusive, giving you peace-of-mind, and helping you manage care without disrupting busy work and life schedules.
We all have concerns about our Parents, Grandparents and the elderly we are responsible for, more so if you live far away from them. As their health may deteriorate, it is critical to regularly know they are OK, without compromising their independence and need for privacy.
It's hard not to worry about the safety of young ones. Asking them to contact you regularly can be difficult for them, especially if they are travelling abroad or staying apart from you. Elert Me gives young ones the freedom they crave, without compromising their safety.
Vulnerable adults can be those with both physical and/or mental health concerns. Trying to balance their quality of life, independence, need for privacy and their safety can be a difficult call to make.
Elert Me only requires you to have access to email, via computer, tablet, phone or other device. You can also download the Elert Me App, making it even easier for your dependent to respond. Once signed up to a package, you set up your dependent and add multiple people into your alert group to receive notifications (e.g. a relative, some friends, a neighbour) if your dependent is unresponsive.
If you and your dependent live in different countries, adding a person into your alert group who lives near to your dependent can improve how quickly you can get them support if problems occur.
Regular Elert Email messages are automatically sent to your dependent at times of the day/week you schedule.
Your dependent simply responds to the Email to acknowledge they are
OK. No need to type anything, just reply with an empty email.
Or, they can simply click ‘OK’ in the Elert Me Mobile App to respond.
Failure to click ‘ OK’ in the App or reply to the email message,
within an agreed timeframe set by you (e.g. 3 hours) automatically triggers an elert

It is vital for carers and guardians to be updated
about the well being of their dependents. We created Elert Me as a simple, flexible
solution, really low-cost, but really robust, to help you stay updated about your loved
ones or those in your care, without being intrusive.
For a few pounds a month, carers and guardians can proactively ensure their dependents are well and responsive throughout the day. It is important to know you are only alerted if your dependent fails to open an Elert message.
At the same time, you do not receive a notification unless your dependent fails to reply to the Elert email message. If they do not reply within a response timeframe you set, only then is a notification triggered, giving you real peace of mind and avoiding unnecessary communications.
Elert Me is ideal for people living abroad who have
dependents and loved ones back in the UK. Elert Me helps you keep tabs on the people you
love, and who might depend on you for whatever reason.
Your Alert Group can include up to 4 people, who are all notified at the same time if your mother fails to reply to the Elert email. The ideal way is to have yourself and a sibling or close friends, and a close-by neighbour who can all be alerted in the event of unresponsiveness. That might mean a quick phone-call or for the neighbour to pop-over to make sure everything is OK. Hopefully it will be nothing, and no further action will be required, but if your mother needs attention, responding quickly can make all the difference.
If you are abroad, it's important you and your Alert Group are all notified as soon as your dependent fails to respond so any of you can react quickly, getting the help needed as soon as possible.
We all lead busy, hectic lives. By setting up an Elert
schedule, you do not need to worry about sending regular messages. An Elert schedule
ensures automatic email messages are regularly sent your dependent, keeping
non-intrusive checks on their responsiveness. You are only alerted if your dependent
fails to open an Elert message.
With the best will in the world, sending an email message to your dependent every day is not always easy to remember, especially at regular, timed intervals.
As many as you like! However, our package is centred
around a single dependent. If you have 2 dependents, you'll need to subscribe
twice. If your dependent is particularly unwell or has greater care needs, we suggest
registering the maximum 4 contacts into your Alert Group, so anyone of you can respond
promptly. And we would suggest including a close friend or neighbour who lives near your
dependent - that way, reacting in the event of unresponsiveness can be
If you are a healthcare providing organisation, please contact us to discuss bespoke pricing and features.
Elert Me is a monthly subscription service, and
operates on 1-month rolling contract terms. If you sign-up and cancel after 3 weeks, we
will be unable to return any funds for the remainder of that month, but you will not be
charged for any month thereafter.
Healthcare providing organisations are subject to different contract terms.
Most UK mobile service providers cover the vast majority of the country, giving at least 1-2 bars of service availability. Elert Me is based on a text-messaging service, requiring very very little signal to operate effectively (less than a phone call). If you have concerns, please contact us, and we can test your signal strength and let you know if the service will work for you and your dependent.
Your monthly report gives you insights into your dependent's response times for the month, helping you adjust and update Elert schedules, and helping to optimise the Elert Me service for you and your dependent.
We setup the Elert Me service for anyone who has loved ones (we call them dependents). You may have elderly parents, minors and young children, teenagers and students travelling on a gap year, expats and people working overseas, vulnerable adults needing care, anyone really. The service is effective because we proactively schedule alert messages for sending to your dependent, who are required to respond within a timeframe you set. Dependents can respond by replying with an empty email to the alert message, or by simply clicking the ‘OK’ button in the Elert Me Mobile App. It’s only when your dependent fails to respond to an alert message in the timeframe you’ve set that we notify you and anyone in your alert group.
No, not at all! We designed Elert Me to help keep tabs on our dependents’ in all sorts of situations. At this time of crisis, when self-isolation or quarantine are recommended measures to safeguard those at-risk, the Elert Me service is of genuine value and benefit. On the flipside, if we have a service that can help the elderly through this time and we didn’t let people know about it, what would you think of us then? At the same time, as an act of goodwill and humanity during this crisis, we are providing the service to all new and existing users for 3 months - at our own expense. If users are not benefiting or enjoying the service, they are free to cancel without charges or any penalty.
We launched Elert Me last year after an incident involving personal friends. A relative of one of our neighbours was found dead in his home. It transpired; the deceased had passed away 3 weeks prior to being found. To be crude, it was only the smell that alerted the neighbour into action. We were all shocked by this tragic event. It’s not to say anyone was to blame, but it woke us up to the certain realities. A number of technologies exist to ensure incidents like this do not occur, but they require a proactive action on the part of the individual. A button press, a phone call etc. We developed our technology to alert a group of loved ones, guardians or support services when the individual fails to check-in, rather than proactively undertakes an action. Elert Me works by notifying all guardians if an individual fails to check-in within a set time frame, e.g. a few hours or more. If they fail to check-in, they may be unresponsive and may need help. This prompts a notification to be sent to everyone in the Alert Group – That group can be First Aiders, loved ones, a Carer, or even a neighbour – so they can proactively respond and check-up on the individual by visiting, or calling etc.
Elert Me does not really replace panic buttons. Panic
buttons ensure rapid response by emergency services in the event of an incident, and
need active triggering by your dependent.
Elert Me was developed as a supplementary service for situations where people are abroad or live away from loved ones, to keep them updated about their dependents responsiveness. And, without being intrusive, or compromising a dependent's need for independence and privacy.
Failure to reply to an Elert message within a time-frame you define triggers a email notification, which is sent to everyone in your alert group so anyone of them can call, visit or respond rapidly, without the need for emergency services.
Yes. Elert Me is a monthly subscription service. The service is provided to help people living or working abroad keep tabs on loved ones and dependents without having to constantly remember to make contact. If you feel you are not receiving value from Elert Me, you are free to cancel at anytime.
It is important to realise that your dependent does not need to reply to Elert email messages with any content or words. They simply need to open the email, and hit reply and send, - it takes less than 10 seconds - a small matter when compared to their safety. An email per day may seem like a lot, but given the importance of the service to users, it really isn't.
If you provide care to many dependents', you'll know each individual will have different needs and care requirements. Elert Me is a useful service that can help manage limited carer resources, and reduce the volume and intensity of physical visits. Using Elert Me to complement the service you offer, can help you free-up carer resources for reassignment to where dependency is greater.
Group Elerts are at the heart of why our service
works. By notifying a few loved ones, or carers, the opportunity for effective, rapid
and immediate response is increased, giving your dependent the best chance of survival,
or limiting potential damage, where an incident occurs.
This is more powerful where you live or work abroad and have loved ones or dependents in the UK.
Downloading the Elert Me Mobile App for dependents makes it really easy for them to respond. They just click the ‘OK’ button if they are OK. They also receive notifications from the App to ensure they respond within the timeframe you’ve set. If your dependent does not have a smartphone, we suggest buying a low-cost one to enable our service. Find our suggestion for a suitable, cost-effective mobile device. here
Yes absolutely. Wherever you or your dependents are in the world, Elert Me works to safeguard. Just be sure to choose the time-zone your dependent is in when you setup Elerts. If your daughter is in Australia, choose the correct time-zone for Australia from the drop-down menu when you schedule Elerts. That way, she will receive Elert messages at appropriate times for her. You will only be notified if she fails to respond within the time-window you set for her (e.g. 3 hours from when she receives an Elert message).
We are not First-Aiders, Carers or a Care Home or Healthcare Service. It is important to know that Elert Me is a technology support service, helping First-Aiders, Carers and Guardians react when an individual becomes unresponsive. We use technology to help these groups respond faster and to be more efficient with the limited resources they have. As an example, an elderly individual uses the Elert Me service with 2 people in their Alert Group – 1, A First Aid Response Service and 2, a daughter overseas. If the elderly individual fails to reply to our message, the First Aid Response Service AND the Daughter are BOTH notified, allowing a prompt response which could be a phone call to the individual, or a visit to make sure everything is OK. If the time-window for the elderly individual to respond was set to 2 hours, the First Aid Response Service and the Daughter would be notified after 2 hours, helping them react quickly with help and aid. See how it works here We set the cost for receiving Elert Messages from us at £5 per month. We feel this is a reasonable charge for the type of service we are offering.
We offer a genuine digital support service to Dependents and their Guardians, helping them react and respond faster in the event that a dependent becomes unresponsive.
